Pakistan's current accountability drive is necessary not only to put its economy on a healthier track and try to bring stolen money back but also to punish corruption and the corrupt and bring back justice into society.

By carrying out self-accountability Pakistan's National Accountability Bureau will become symbolically far more credible, by doing so it will become effective against corruption as it was meant to be.

When legislators, bureaucracy businessmen, etc are prosecuted, they do not try to disprove their guilt, their only defense is to direct public opinion by pointing fingers towards the two indispensable pillars of the State, the Judiciary and the Armed Forces.  A workable legal framework must be formulated by Parliament to remove the ambiguities and bring these into the ambit to give accountability credibility and true meaning.

The “acid test” for anyone with conscience occupying a seat of influence is to expose those misusing corporate responsibility either for personal benefit or ulterior motives whoever he (or she) may be.
